Despite dealing with a minor discomfort and a sore throat, I put forth my utmost effort to ensure our customers had an enjoyable time. I truly hope that they all had a fantastic experience.
So, here’s the scoop: We had this group of friends from Hyatt, they were total troopers when we had to do some switching around. We had a fantastic mix of travelers from all around the world – Ohana from Japan, two spirited Australians (50th times visiting Hawaii) , one lovely soul from Georgia, and another from Germany. They were all so chill about it, and the good vibes were already flowing.
Now, onto the fun part – our journey had some unexpected delays due to road restrictions for tree trimming and road construction. But you know what they say, the best things in life are worth waiting for! Malassadas was an absolute hit, followed by those mouthwatering Hawaiian food samples. And let’s talk about the New Tanaka Kahuku Shrimp – it was beyond awesome! Spacious, with a separate spot for us guides and drivers, and plenty of other cool shops nearby for ice cream and souvenirs.
Now, here’s the kicker – the Banana Lumpia put the biggest smiles on everyone’s faces, erasing any trace of shrimp taste. Traffic was a bit of a hassle from Teddy’s Bakery all the way to Laniakea, but guess what? We may not have spotted any Green Sea Turtles there, but we did encounter a sleepy Hawaiian Monk Seal, which was pretty darn special.
Our quest for turtles led us to Puaena Park, where we found three determined turtles braving the strong waves to grab a bite to eat – “The Winter is coming,” they seemed to say. At Haleiwa, our travelers had some free time to explore, and the journey back to Waikiki was as smooth as can be. We were treated to a spectacular display of rainbows thanks to some refreshing showers that came to cool us down from the heat.
In the end, it was a truly beautiful day, and I couldn’t be more grateful to call this place home. Let’s keep these adventures rolling!
