One of the greatest things about Hawaii is all the fresh and local food, and if you want to eat like a local check out one of our favorite food spots Leahi Health!
Leahi Health offers farm to table food, fresh from the aina (land). All of their fruits and vegetables are organic and locally grown here in Hawaii! At Leahi they believe that health is your wealth and they only serve the best ingredients. They offer a variety of plant based foods and smoothie across three different locations: Kaimuki, Kailua, and Aina Haina.
What to Eat
For drinks we recommend trying the Sweet Tweet, Green Monster, or the Breakfast Smoothie! Many of their smoothies are also made with kombucha, which they make themselves in house. Kombucha is a fermented tea and contains antioxidants and healthy probiotics and offers a variety of benefits including preventing diseases and supporting overall health.
If you’re looking for delicious and healthy grinds try their tacos, they’re served on warm naan bread and packed with flavor. The kale avocado tacos are the best in our opinion: fresh kale with black beans, cilantro, and a garlic bean spread topped with tomatoes. Don’t forget to ask for their homemade hot sauce! They also serve a variety of salads served on top of brown rice, each one bursting with tasty ingredients and full of nutrients. The Surfer Bowl is our favorite and features a kale salad mixed with cabbage, onion, carrot, and cucumber topped with avocado, tomatoes, furikake, and almonds tossed in a tangy balsamic dressing. Ono! Leahi Health also serves some of the best acai bowls on the island which are perfect as a healthy snack or a meal.
If you’re staying in Waikiki near Dolphins and You, the Kaimuki location is the closest and just a few miles away. This location offers outside seating and can be easily accessed by bus or trolley.
